Guest of honor on the first evening of 2018/19 season was Sasu Ripatti, aka Vladislav Delay. In his long-awaited return to the scene, Ripatti presented a new project. The artist is an authentic master of avant-garde minimal-techno, with a rigorous and uncompromising rhythmic language, expressed in a perpetual motion capable of rewriting the rules of post-clubbing electronic composition. Sasu Ripatti’s music is known for its sophisticated material qualities. His sound approach is based on formal deconstruction and on elements of partial randomness: different complementary and sometimes contrasting layers constantly interact in his aesthetic. The traits that characterize his style are the bass-synth lines, fragmented and syncopated percussion – often freely placed within the compositions -, repetitions of sound tissues with prolonged echoes, syncopated use of vocal samples and articulated techniques in the elaboration of the digital effects.

In the first part of the concert, the Italian premiere of Chra, alter ego of the Austrian artist, DJ and radio and television presenter Christina Nemec. After a period of experimentation with low frequencies and sound effects, Chra began working on rhythmic pulses closer to the club, using sine waves processed through a tape recorder and other analog and digital tools to evoke landscapes, territories, silence and unusual and extreme situations. She is also a member of the Shampoo Boy and SV Damenkraft projects.
She has released 2 albums with the prestigious Editions Mego.
